Default Looking for a reputable cylinder head shop in NH or MA

Just got done yanking one of my engines with only 5 hours on it and it looks like a bent valve. Looks like the shop didn't assembly properly and one of the guides grabbed! Anyway, I need to have these heads repaired and have the other set on the other engine gone through completely. Who can I count on to due the proper diligence and put these together. I would prefer a shop in NH or MA

Thanks
Jim

Default engine blders

i have had very good luck with r&l engines in dover nh. he did both of my boat motors, blown 510's, and helped me square away my blown pro street car motor. he also did a spare motor for the boat but i haven't needed it.

larry Liefert In torrington CT
860 482 4533

He builds allot of GT1 trans am circuit engines which included Paul Newmans engines.
They do all my turbocharged pontiac machine work for me.

Its only larry and eddie there and no kids messing with your parts.

His prices are very reasonable and the quality is second to none.
He does everything the Old school way and his work is like an ART!
In 20 years of having him doing my work I have NEVER been unhappy once with price or with quality.

Tell Him Jeff Palazzo told you to call

Jim Reid did the machine work and balance of my last race motor and did a great great job and i would recomend him for sure.

my local guy is in somerville ma and is UNREAL!!!! he is very affordable and does great work fast! he has done hundres of heads for me from small block to ls1 to big blocks etc etc. does great work.
1-617-666-1450 ask for scott. tell him i sent you.
he usually does my stuff. he was unable to do my race motor and recomended jim so i used him. scott told me anything he cant do or doesnt have time to do he would only use jim or his son. so either scott or jim your in great hands

Thanks for all the great recommendations!

Noyzee, airtime, I think either Jim or Scott will be my choice!

Noyzee, you said Scott was very affordable...can you give me a ballpark price to have a set of BB heads rebuilt? I assume Scott and or Jim have experience with marine applications regarding high sustained rpm's and such?

Thanks again for the recommendations, it's always good to get second and third opinions

hard to say a price, it depends whats wrong with them. i have had a set of heads done for $100 but all parts where reusable. if you need valves depending what you want they are $12 to $25 each so it will vary. as for setting them up, yes scott has done boat motors the high rpm doesnt make any difference really the valve springs are limited to the cup size and valve heights and again it depends on how much you want to spend on springs. or if yours are still good he can test them and he will set them up with the right pressures etc. he is very very good. he builds all his own race motors and has done tons of stuff for me and some friends and i have never had a part that he has done fail on me!!!! and im making 1,000 hp spinning to 8,500 rpm. his big block makes 1500 hp on motor and runs to 9,000 rpm!!! he knows his stuff.
he did the heads on my buddys baja, 454 mag and they have been in the boat for 2 seasons now un touched and he runs the boat very very hard at 5500-5700 rpm depending on prop.
he is very good.
jim is good as well for sure but you will pay a bit more and he will take a bit longer but will do a good job. id go to who ever is closer i think.
