the boat i'm buying has a 87 V8 300 with low hours, the steering is frozen in the tilt tube, the tilt motor is not working, and i want the change the fuel pump in order to run mixed fuel. I plan on selling the engine and re powering but i want to use the boat until then

All you have to do is plug the oil nipple on the VRO's and premix oil in the gas. If it has the no oil warning in the VRO's that wiring plug will need to be disconnected. If the VRO's are the updated ones there would be no need to change a thing. I have raced with the VRO's using the oil injection. My twin engine race boat still uses VRO's as fuel pumps.
The steering is sounding scary? Is it a single cable push pull style? Side mount hydraulic? I would need to know to help?
