Default 2004 Baja 302 boss..Opinions??

Hi fellas. Looking for some input on the 302 Boss. I currently own a 280 Velocity and my family has "grown out of it ( Wife can't stand the ride/cockpit space). Can anyone give me the pro's/con's on this boat? Looking at an 04 with just under 120hrs. with 496Mag motors in it.

Depending on options it'll run 65mph with that power lots of cockpit and cuddy space handles the rough stuff nicely and IMO very nice boat. It's not the fastest, but you'll get there with the rest.

IMO...very nice boats...cons..ride like a bath tub, very small swim platform(unless you have/get the fiberglass extension), slow, heavyish feel... pros...great family boat, lots of "family" options, good cross between performance & family boating..2x 425hp HO's went about 67mph..so 2x 375hp should be 63 ish area..can be bought right too, I have seen them worth the money..stick with the mags, don't get one with 6.2's or the old 310 hp. My buddy had that one and did not like the performance..but he liked the rest of the boat.!

An outlaw would definately be my first choice but I want to see a Baja persons opinion before I make any real decisions. What do you think about the 33 outlaw?

I had a 1988 Baja 265 Force before I bought my 33 OL a few months ago...I love this 33 Outlaw!..I had 2 must haves..4 bolsters & hydraulic steering...I would not buy it any other way. The power did not matter much to me, I plan on building a couple engines either this winter or next winter..these 454 mags are running great right now though!....If I had my rathers..I guess I would go the 33 OL route over the 302..the OL gives a much better ride & has better seating IMO( if you get the 4 bolster option)..but the 302 has a roomier more user friendly cuddy, that does not matter much to me, but it might if you use it for kids or sleeping...but dont buy anything until you either drive it, or you ride in a friends boat. I was lucky having friends that already owned them, so I knew what I was getting...mostly

I would disagree on this. Mine has all the options except A/C and it ran 67 on GPS with Mags ,74 on GPS with HO's and 81.7 with 500efi's out of the box. Had a bounce til I put the boxes and shorties on it. LOTS more room than a 29OL and nothing has the room of a 33OL

Ive owned both a 29OL and 302. Same year (1999) and powered identically. Like both very much. I also prefer the 7.4 310 HPs. I know this is OSO and we all love performance boats, but the 310s have been nothing but reliable and economical for me. I don't mind paying $10K less for 5 MPH slower. It doesn't mean squat to me when I'm anchored drinking beer watching the kids swim off the back all day.

Both purchases I went for a 29OL or 302...wherever I could find the best deal.

BLOWN85, Just spoke with your friend John. There is good info on here. I'm with Irish on the speeds, Bajapred's numbers seem a little low. The 302 cockpit space is only trumped by the 33s (for boats in this size range).
