Default Need help finding a replacement engine hatch/sunpad frame.

Unfortunately the right rear corner of my engine hatch/sun pad fiberglass frame gave out by the hinge yesterday afternoon while boarding it from the dock. I'm 230lbs and when it stepped down quickly from the dock (about 2 foot higher than the boat) the fiberglass gave in. I am looking into getting it repaired but would like to see what it costs to just replace it. I'm looking for one that will fit a 1995 272. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it can be repaired. In fact I have a local guy who can repair it but I am trying to compare replacement cost vs repair.

Well that boat hasn't been made in 8yrs so I'm guessing the molds are long gone for that engine hatch, so I'd start looking at repairing. As well the plant that would've had those molds is closed and I'm pretty sure everything went into the landfill when they closed.

I'm sure your right but I was hoping against hope that somewhere a shop might have one lying around. lol... I'm taking it to a guy who was the head fiberglass/gelcoat repair for Prince William Marina. He opened his own shop and that should hopefully help me keep the cost down. Boat = Break Out Another Thousand!!!

XT - getting it repaired but upon taking it off I noticed it is missing some hardware. I bought the boat off the original owner and didn't the couple bolts missing when we looked over the boat. These are the bolts that go from the middle of the fiberglass frame up into the pad. I think there are 6-8 of them maybe. Not the ones in the hinges. Do you have a diagram of the pad by chance?

No diagram, but it should look much like my 29ol tray with wood strips all the way around the tray to staple too, and (4) bolt studs each side that connect to the hinge?

XT thanks for the pics but the bolts I'm talking about are in the center/middle of the fiberglass frame.
