My brother's '88 dumptruck, figure it's a 3/4 or 1-ton since it only has the 351 in it.
The thing goes through solenoids almost as fast as gas and hydraulic oil. He put a new starter in it earlier this year. The thing I notice is that the key doesn't spring back from "Start" to "On" very well so I wonder if it can hang just enough to burn through solenoids.
Anywho, wondering if we could either bypass the factory solenoid somehow and/or maybe wire in a standalone pushbutton start and maybe ignition switch. Don't think he needs a nice Longacre setup, perhaps just an old marine pushbutton starter button.
