Default bravo cooling hose at gimbal

How do you go about replacing the the molded cooling hose at the gimbal housing on a bravo 1 ? see they use a plastic spacer on the ends to retain it ? thanks Rob

removing the drive is the only way to access the outer end. Removing the engine is the easiest way to do the inner. Remove the plastic adapter fitting from the transom assembly ( two bolts ) The collar can then be easily collapsed and removed with a small screw driver allowing the hose to be removed. New hose and two new collars for reinstall.

there is also a special tool from merc that is cheap that you will need to install the new tappered plastic spacers, al little grease on threads not on hose to gimbal side and your good, you want 1/8 inch rubber sticking out after you tighten the plastic pieces.
