whats better twin 200 mercs. or inboard on these boats I may buy one what does everyone think.

The I/O Version was one of the best "A Class" Raceboats ever. Look on here for the Video of Franks Marine/Hooligans Racing in key West. It was allways a contender for the win.

Umberto Picone ran a 24 Carrera back in the day & owned the company.
It could keep up with the larger boats in a rough race & he made it look easy.
You have to see one of them run in the rough ocean to believe it.

I think these pictures say it all about Carrera's.. One bad A** 24' boat.

Depends on your preference, The I/O will probably be faster if you run big power, twin 200's will be MAYBE a 65MPH boat, unless the 200's are worked over, but outboards are definitely easier to work on than a car motor in the bilge.

Those are pictures of the boat when Butch Ryan owned/raced it. Dave Jones later owned it. They ran pretty good in the rough considering their small stature. The boat that is...lol.
