Default Need help - Bravo 1X 4 Blade Bravo 1 Prop

I believe I spun the prop today? I wasn't sure that it was possible on my boat? 2005 Nordic Rage with a 496 HO. As I said it's a 4 blade 26 labbed SS.

Ok, here's what happened: approaching a dock, get lined up coasting in the wife's up in the bow and going to grab hold of a dock cleat. I take it out of forward and go to neutral and instead of hitting reverse I throtle up slightly, then realizing I've missed reverse my hand move before the brain says throtle back and then hit reverse. All the time the nose of the boat is approaching the dock. So it does drop into reverse and I gun it to neutralize momentum the engine raced but I did get it stopped and docked. Come back out from eating lunch and the only forward movement was at idle. The ride back was "a slow boat to China" but we got back and got her on the trailer. I was very concerned that I had done some internal damage to the drive.

After inspecting there is play in the prop but not in the actual shaft. I'm hoping this is a hub/coupler? I was planning on sending the prop off to bblades at the end of the season to have a few nicks repaired that I got from running on the Lower Colorado.

Only problem is I was planning on a poker run on Lake Travis next Saturday. Could this get done in time if I ship tomorrow? Or will I just be stressing out trying to get it back together by next Friday night?

Very much appreciate y'all's help and experience!

Brett at BBlades is great he will help you out. But that being said it is their busy time. If you spun the hub just call Brett he can send you one they just slip right in.

More than likely, you cracked the delrin plastic hub. Its a simple fix. Just pull the prop and replace the hub.

And while you are at it, get the solid hub, because the only way to spin them is to crack the prop.

From going to a solid hub????????? NO.

The Delrin hubs are a lot more forgiving. If you hit something, the hub will break instead of your outdrive.
