Hello
I have a 2001 382 Fastech with 500efi, without boxes, air and genset. Spinning 26 Bravos non labbed. My topspeed is 70mph and once 72mph at 5000rpm with alot of trim (8-9). Cruise at 3500rpm is about 46mph depending on trim. I like to see 75-76mph at top, more cruise speed would also be great. Is that possible with some proppwork?
Thanks Bompa

The 382's are HEAVY. I knew a guy with a 382 and he went to 5 blades to get better cruise speed and then switched to spinning the 5 blades in to get his top end speed back.
It really depends on the boat and what it needs as to whether you will gain speed. A lot of boats gain speed, but sometimes handling suffers.

Bompa, I don't think you will see 76 with 500's but I could be wrong.Give Brett at BBlades a call. I am sure he can get your boat around 74. He may set up your 26's or you can try some 28's from his loaner program. I don't know the characteristics of the 500's versus the 525's,but I do know that the 26's would not be enough prop for my boat. I run labbed 28's and labbed 26 five blades. BTW i have the same equipment as you, air, genset but no boxes. Hope this helps.

700's w/nxt's will get you 97. Above 80 my 382 sets on the back step and is solid. The issue with bravo drives is that it is a heavy boat and tends to be hard on drives especially in the ocean. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OowWR...e=channel_page

I have a 2000 382 w/500 EFI's, no gen or holding tank, I do have AC and ext boxes and I run on stock 28's and max out at 5200 rpm's and see 74 mph. I cruise at 45 mph @3700 rpm's.
I want to move closer to 30's to have better cruise speed at lower rpm's I can't imaging running on 26" props. You must have had then worked pretty close to 28".
