Default 1975 Taylor SJ Outboard

I know it's not Offshore, but it's cool. Don't find many guys that have seen one rigged for outboard. I got this boat running today for the first time since it was stuck in the barn 15 years ago. It was bought brand new in 1975 by my dad. I rescued it about 2 years ago and finally got a chance to get it finished up this week, Still needs a few small parts, but I fired it up today and it runs like we put it up yesterday. It is a special boat that I hope will stay in the family for a long time.

PS. If anyone knows where a 150 6 cylinder Merc is that is 1975 model. Needs to be a good piece.

I am a buyer as that is the way the boat was rigged at the dealership and I want to eventually get it back that way.

Beautiful job Jeff. It's always great to hear a story about keeping the boat in the family. Well done.

Darrell.

I think that a black tower of power would look right at home on that.

I used to have one of those "big black stacks on the back" (a 1984 115) and loved the way it sounded. Your boat looks beautiful and hopefully you'll be able to score the correct motor for it to return it to true original condition.
