Boat tops out at 60??
Seems pretty slow. Dont the 6.2's have 300hp or 320 HP?
What does it cost to wake up 6.2's? Is there anyone out there building a 400hp plus small block marine motor that has been proven?

It's austin's boat.
ar15...very easy to get 475-500hp from a 383. I've gotten a quote from one S. Fl builder, and have talked to JC perf.
But i personally wouldn't start messing w/ the stock merc power in this boat.

2 years ago while on vacation at Austin's resort in Abaco we were seeing right at 66-67 MPH on GPS. This boat does not have the stock Bravo 1 drives since it had bigger power before we installed the 6.2 MPI 320 HP.
There is a 2004 28' here in Miami with the same power but with Bravo 1 drives ( not XZ or XR ) and I have seen it run right at 69-70 MPH on GPS.
With the new T.S. bottom with this same power I think 74-75 MPH are realistic speeds.
Austin takes good care of it. Anyone looking to go on a "nice" vacation should contact Austin. Incredible beaches over there.

60mph on the average day with 4 people and fuel. I've seen 66mph on a winter day( cooler air) , just me, and lite fuel, but day to day use it's a solid 60mph. It will go 60mph through the inlet, in the ocean with 5-7', steep chop... pretty much anything. You have to throttle it, but once you get that down, she's smooth. 60mph through the rough is more than most people are used to. But yes, perfect conditions, 66mph. For a testimonial one how she does in rough water talk to J-bonz ... he was just down for his honeymoon and we found some "choppy" water!

I see no reason the boat wouldn't run 66 or so like the owner & Jo said.. I've not payed attention to what year the boat is but I'm sure its newer & probably a touch lighter than my old 80 or 81 that I had with twin sbc's in it.. Mine had smaller cube engines along with less power in it (around 270-280 hp a piece) and was also running XR's.. Only difference is they were on a 7" setback.. I never experimented with props ect..ect.. but last time I ran it before tearing it apart I was in the boat by myself and undoubtedly pretty low on fuel and it ran 63.8 on GPS in a "just right" chop.. I really think I could have spun the props in & possibly picked up a touch...
Anyways that's a Great looking boat and with that power would make somebody who prefers to boat rather than turn wrenches a great ride !! Best wishes on the sale !!
