I have a Scarab 3 with twin 454 big blocks and new model bravo 1's. Boat goes now 60mph at 5000rpm. Ratios are 1.5:1. Props are 24p 4 blade bravo ones. I have thought the slip is too much, 21%. How little slip can I get? Bottom paint is not so good but I think props are not good to this boat. In cruising speed they slip much more. I don't know how much I have power but engines are tuned magnusms. 365hp originally, now approx 420 or more. X dimension are higher than originally. Boat got new backpanel, so drives are lifted up about 2". boat get planning very hardly, 4500rpm and 20seconds. and props blow totally out under 35mph. I need ecomical cruising and nice top speeds. nothing else. Should I test some 5 blades, how about rake and other things?
