Ford Edge or Nissan Murano?
#1
My g/f needs a new car and needs an all wheel drive suv. We just had a baby so we're looking for something safe, reliable, and decent on gas. We have it narrowed down to the Ford Edge or Nissan Murano. I'd love to give the money to the only of the "big three" that didn't need the bailout, but I'm just hearing way too much GOOD about the Nissan. Looking for some advice. Thanks in advance

I actually test drove the ford earlier this week. I really wanted to like it, but I just can't deal with the bathtub effect they have. High door line, big center console, not enough free space around me. It's back to mid-large size SUV shopping.

I am in car dealerships all day as I am in tool and equipment sales.Nissan seems to be having more problems than Ford. There quality seems as all the Asian vehicles seems to be dropping.Nissan has a lot of engine problems. So if those are your two choices I would pick Ford.

Of those two, I'd say the Edge by a mile.
However, if you want the best in class, I'd say Equinox or Terrain (God forbid you buy from an American company that got support from it's gov't, rather than a Japanese company that has.........)

She drove the Equinox yesterday and didn't like it much. The Terrain is a gas hog. It's tough because I have an Escalade so she's used to a great ride but drives a Prius that excels in the mileage department.
