Default 42 Fountain best year used

I'm looking to buy a 42 fountain to run in poker runs and at the lake ozarks shootout. What is the best year hull to buy? I'm looking at some 1995 they have a step but I think the newer 2000 ect have a different bottom, also the engine stager might be different. Any help please I just want to shop for the right plate form to start with. I'm not buying anything new. Thanks

07 was the lastest hull update. Biggest steps full stag. If you're are looking for a big number that would be less $$$ in the long run. Than pouring H.P. into an older hull.

What deck style do you like? There are a ton of low priced Ex's with the latest bottoms out there for sale.

imo this is a hell of a deal,w/ 700's I would think it would need a speedo above 120mph though? add a crazy paint job and go ya could even add the Whipple upgrade kit

anything newer than an 02 should run well. I know of a couple older that had chine walking problems at 100+. I have one w/ #6's and it drives like a dream in just about any water condition and I've been 120 and it's as solid as a rock at speed.

It’s my understanding that in 2004 they started using the lower windshield. 2005 they went to the sliding door, late 2006 got a new cockpit and 2008 the cuddy was revamped. I think the last time the bottom was changed to handle more power was in late 2006.
