There is a already a thread about the poker run, but we wanted to send an "official" invitation to everyone to come visit at this year's big event and provide some information about it....
We would like to invite you to the
Lake Cumberland Poker Run at State Dock in Jamestown, KY
September 11th Weekend
The Lake Cumberland Poker Run is Off the Charts! Incredible boats from across the country, Non Stop Parties and Thousands of spectators. This is Performance Boat Paradise! Recognized as the Most Fun Poker Run in America!
According to Extreme Boats Magazine: “New Orleans has Bourbon Street, Key West has Duvall, Memphis has Beale Street, but… Lake Cumberland has State Dock! The Lake Cumberland Poker Run draws people from everywhere and is a virtual who’s who of the powerboat industry.”
Read on to see why many experienced Poker Runners call this the most fun event of the year.
The Lake: Lake Cumberland is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country with over 100 miles in length, and 1,200 miles of shoreline. The course is wide open, covering 110 miles of unobstructed lake with long straight stretches, no idle zones and no speed limits. Lake Cumberland is known as the “Houseboat Capital of the World” and tens of thousands of spectators are on hand for the Poker Run each year.
The Marina: Imagine, 46 houseboats totaling over 200 bedrooms lined on a single dock exclusively for Poker Run participants and an adjacent dock with 125 of the most incredible power boats in the country. During the Lake Cumberland Poker Run, that’s State Dock. The ability to stay where you play makes the State Dock experience unique. With 2 huge docks normally used to moor a rental fleet of over 80 houseboats, State Dock is converted into a Poker Run Paradise. One dock becomes “Houseboat Row” and after dark when the Party Barge gets cranked up it’s reminiscent of Mardis Gras. The other dock is completely cleared and reserved exclusively for the Poker Run Boats.
The ship’s store and fuel piers are among the largest in the country. There are nine 100’ fuel piers and four 40’ piers. During the Poker Run we also offer 110 Octane racing fuel. It’s a resort atmosphere with beautiful facilities and unmatched service. The ship’s store has an unbelievable selection of nautical clothing and poker run items. Stroll down the rest of the dock and you’ll find some of the largest and most incredible houseboats in the country.
Entertainment: The entertainment is always awesome! Bill Kingery will be back with on the Party Barge with his incredible sound system and laser show on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Live entertainment will be provided on Saturday night by Lake Cumberland’s favorite party band, “Caught Red Handed”. They will “Rock the Dock”.
Lodging: In addition to the Boatels, State Dock is located within the Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. We have reserved all available rooms for Poker Run participants. Give us a call and we will assist you with reservations. In addition, Jamestown Marina & Resort is located just across from State Dock and we run a water taxi between the marinas. The number for the lodge there is (800) 830-5131. If you need any assistance with lodging, give us a call.
Dining: In the past, food has been included in the registration fee. For this year, we have reduced the registration fee and made the meals available as an option. Wrist bands for meals are $75/person which includes dinner on Friday night and 3 meals on Saturday. This option will reduce your waiting time and bypass the crowds. In addition to the catered meals, Chubs Dockside Grill is available and Fat Mans Barbeque will be on site with their famous Kentucky Barbeque. We also have shuttle service to Lure Lodge at the park which has a nice dining room overlooking the lake.
Parking: We completed a parking lot addition this year with over 380 new spaces. There is ample parking for your rigs and shuttle service available to and from the dock.
Prizes: Total prize money of $7,100! First Place: $4,000, Second: $1,500, Third: $750, Fourth: $500 and Fifth: $350.
Registration / Cost: You can register by telephone by calling State Dock at (888)782-8336). You can also register on line at www.lakecumberlandpokerrun.net . The registration fee is $350 which includes the boat registration, entertainment and T-shirts for two participants
