I just got a set of Powerflow exhausts and the pressure/return line fittings on the back of the power steering pump will not clear. I went to the Imco site and did not see a solution.
What do I need to do to make it all work? Is there another power steering bracket that I need to get? Engine is a 1987 420 Mercruiser, all original power steering/alternator brackets.

Something doesn't look right there.. Are all the bolts in the exhaust, are you sure it's mounted right? It looks too far forward. If it is installed correctly you can get a power steering mount for the other side at CPPerformance, they are awesome to deal with. Good luck

They make a special mounting bracket for it. Go to the IMCO web site or look on CP.Performance.

You need to get the IMCO bracket. It raises the Power steering pump about an inch higher. You will need a longer belt also.
This is the bracket I used when I had the same issue http://www.imcomarine.com/ca_store/i...roducts_id=656

Yep. I called Imco and they have the cure. My manifolds are the older style with bungs on each end. The bracket you used is for the newer style without the bungs. I have to use the lower bracket which mounts everything below the original placement by many inches.

I'm not going to disagree with you there. My old hoses have the flexability of a piece of oak 4x4. There is a hose behind and below the captains choice, if I can get it all apart and get everything slippery with soapy water I may be able to give myself a little wiggle room side to side and up and down and get it to fit together.
That begs the question, what is the best way to separate the seal between the cast parts and the hoses that have been sealed on there tight for 23 years? Any suggestions?
