Default 24' Race edition pics needed

Curious to see how the raceboats have been laid out in the past. Dash, interior, rigging, etc. all is welcome.

Also anyone run both 3man standup and sitdown 24's??? Curious to the pros and cons of each. Not a big fan of the old school, waist high freeboard while standing. Considering making it a sitdown with two race bolsters.

I "converted" my seats to strictly sit-downs. I lowered the entire seats 4" and the seat bottoms another 7". So I now sit 11" lower than the original bolsters. They look a little strange with the seat bottoms that low but you are really wrapped in the seat now. It's "function over form". No way I would stand up and drive a 24.

That's kind of my thoughts but I know it was the way to go back in the day. Never saw them race so I'm a bit "new" school and dont see the point in standing in a boat that only comes up to my waist.

Sure as hell not hitting anything on the way out if ya hook. That is the only reason I could see running it this way.

Sounds about like mine.

Could you guys take a quick measurment from the floor to the top of the freeboard? Not too familiar with these 24 and not sure if the standup race versions were built any differently than the pleasure models. Dash is obviously way different but curious if there's a drastic difference for the seat height.

I can when I get home. I can tell you that the top of the seat bottom from the factory was at 25".

Jo would be able to answer if they were built differently.

By the wheel I am about 32" from the floor to the gunwale and 38" to the windscreen.

Also, I need to correct my earlier post. I lowered the seat bottoms 9", not 11". They were 25" from the floor and now they are 16".

I have had 2 24 Pantera and if I had another I would make it a sit down for sure. I believe that it's a better feel and also you look more proportioned. Look at onesickpantera's avatar and you will see what I mean.

Yep, I agree and that pic in the avatar was the "GEN 1" mod. LOL The seats were only 4" lower then.

Here's a pic with the new seating.
