We all know that MerCruiser is the leader in brand recognition, racing, sales, and so on...MY QUESTION is WHO has been more innovative in new technologies. I am looking for real answers and/or links to respectable articles that discuss this question...not personal opinions.

I ask this because it seems to me that i read somewhere that Volvo was more innovative. And for the record, i am completely a Merc guy, but am curious to know if what i remember is correct. Maybe it was so long ago that things have changed...maybe not.
