Default Mercury turbine outboard

Has any one ever actually seen the turbine powered outboard that merc was playing with? I know it had a sportmaster that had two props that spun opposite like the blackhawk.

how insurable would that be? I know I/O turbines are pretty much uninsurable-- too flammable?

That used to be the case but not any more. Turbine Marine has shown the way forward to safe turbine boating with its water-jacketed headers and other improvements to the Lycoming turbine engine.
