Hey guys I am looking anto buying a 1990 226 es. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with them. Any common problems, and what is the ride like? Also about how fast with a 330 hp 454? Any feedback would be appreciated.

looked at one once a few years back. Good 1'st boat. If I can remember correctly the deadrise is 20 degree's which makes it okay in smooth water, but it did not handle the 3-4 footers too well. The boat I was in also had a 454 330hp and only did 58 on the speedo. If you test drive the 226es, then test a 24 or 25 outlaw or a 252 or 272, you may spend the extra $$ for the better ride.

Your correct, the 1990 226es has a 20 degree deadrise, and about right on the speed as it weighs in at 3500#.

chadc 78, just curious what are they asking for it?

Thanks For the help guys. I thought the 226 might have been the same hull as the 240 just chopped off, i believe they are 24 degree? They are asking just under 10 for the boat. Thanks again.
