Default Downturn Pipes

I thought about getting some Gibson Downturn Pipes for my Supercharged 600hp engines. I found a thread back in 2002 that some people were getting water in their engines because the pipes were sucking in water. Is this still a problem, or have the downturn pipes been re-designed. I sure don't want water in my engine. I tried mufflers, and it totally changed my idle from 850-1100rpm. Tried to adjust it, no luck.

Read my post on this thread concerning the donkey dong pipes:

Not worth it in my opinion....but that;s just me.

I used them on an 800hp N/A 598ci. Didnt seem to suck water or lose any power. Certainly are quiet at idle speeds though. amazingly quiet.

it also depends where you are, here in KS. we're 92db @ j2005. so as long as we pass at idle we're good.

I run downturns on 700HP+ supercharged engines with no problems. They are quiet (at idle anyway) and have no restriction like most mufflers do.
