A friend just picked up a 1988 30' Scarab Panther with 454ci, 385hp. Completely stock except for Gil exhaust and 850cfm carbs which seem to fat. Boat is running bravo 1's spinning Mirage 23P 3 blades at 5,000 rpms 61 on the GPS, 4 peeps n w approx 100 gallons of fuel. Any suggestions on carbs and props ? Looking for some assistence...Thanks

Sounds like your set-up is close . The older Scarabs seem to respond well with the bow lifting 3 blade mirage props.You could try a 24 Bravo one ... cruise speed should increase .

talk to Brett at bblades you might want to run a rev 4 with 23 p they are great on older boats with deep X. would could pick up top speed and cruising speed over the 23 mirage b1s have a bigger blade you would need a p22. and it will be slower than the other two. a 24p b1 is to big you would get 4600rpms maybe or 4700. call brett he has a prop swap so if the rev 4s didn't work you send them back and try a different set up
