Towing 19,000lbs across the country F-650?
#1
Hello Everyone,
I am in the planning stages of hauling my boat to FL. I don't think my Chevy 1-ton is up to the task! I have paid to have it hauled any distance in the past. Now I'm ready to give it a shot myself.
I have been looking at bigger trucks, but I'm lost as to which would be the best. A used F-650 (older), f-550, or a Kodiak, seem to fit my needs and budget. The f-650 looks like it would handle the load easily. But it looks like it would be a beast to drive. I'm not a trucker in any sense of the word. The F-550 or Kodiak seem much more user friendly to me if they can handle a 3,000 mile trip pulling that kind of weight. I want a truck that is not over or near it's max capacity, yet I don't want to be beat to death for 8 hours per day. I'm looking for pro's, con's, or just plain good advice.
Thanks,
Steve
