Anyone know anything about the 33 for sale at Cumberland? 525 sc's with #5's. Boat is in excellent shape and has low hours.
Anything to worry about with this set up? Any other input on this boat?

Some of the 33's have tunnel tabs and some don't. I am just curious how much these tunnel tabs are actually used. It seems like most of the people I talk to say they rarely if ever use them? The boat I am looking at does not have one and just checking to see if I would have to have one installed or not.

As stated before some of the older 33's did have a porpoise problem and the tab helped to control that but the tunnel tab also helps if you have a high x dimension when getting on plane. The tunnel tabs can have other high speed advantages but you must make sure the tab is lifted up before making any kind of turn or you risk spinning the boat out.

New ones dont have air tabs just a tab to get on plane they have more rear lift and dont need the air tab. At speed we have left the tab down and they get real wild in back end. I know they have change the hull on ours for sure. No porpoise to speak of without an airtab. Like said earlier they tab is a must if you have a high X like ours. I dont think you could get on plane with a loaded boat with out it..
