Default thoughts and opinions for a class 5 or 6 boat

say between a 27 Kryptonite with a 500 efi (supposedly runs 81 on gps) or a 28 pantera w a single 540 approx 625hp that will possibly be used as a bay bomber when not racing. would race any jersey, ny, and MD race and the championship

i also spoke with the owner of the Great Adventure Sutphen but i think because its a 31 footer it would have to be class 4 in which at 73 mph its not a contender

well seeing one is a 27 and the other is a 28 that moves you out of class 6 (26ft limit)

Both are class 5 because of length. Kryptonites run real well.

I dont see whay you couldnt run 5. There are a bunch of 30ft Superboats (Y2K is 32ft overall) and the Sutphen is 30' 9". The only problem I would see is having the twin motors.

Measure the boat Bernie, it probably shrank a bit over the years.

I like them both but If I had to do it over again, I would put my dough on the Krypto. May be tough to compete with stock HP500. Pantera is a great boat. But will not be a contender in class 5 w/ 625 HP these days. If your lucky top speed will be 80 mph. Not to mention possible engine problems which always seem to surface. It will do well in big water though.
