Trailer rebuild/upgrades...what have you done?
#1
I have to do a full rebuild of the myco that came with my formula, the PO did not take good care of it so the fenders are gone, all the brakes and wiring are gone, etc.
I would like to go disc brakes, but have not dug in too deep to take a look. Im from the utility trailer side of life and really only used to big axles and big drums. Since i have to redo everything a to z on this i figure i might as well make it as puller friendly as possible.
So what has everyone done? Would do if had the chance, wouldnt do again?

Conversion to disc is ussually real easy. You can drill out the actuator orofice to keep the same actuator. I am doing a huge project on one of my trailers now. Replacing all the bunks and bunk supports, new galvanized axels, rims, tires, break lines to stainless...... I was looking at it last night saying man I should have just purchased a new trailer...

As said above do the eoh swap, I just redid all of my hubs on my myco and switched over to the airtight hubs. do you have discs now just with surge? you can rebuild all your stuff. new hubs are only 61 bucks with bearings and races, you can get new rotors and brake pads from etrailer.com. I also powder coated my bow stop post and switched from cable to strap. All new rims and tires, possibly fenders over the winter as well. if you have any questions on vendors let me know...

after sitting for 2" years in salt water everything is shot. the backing plates are already in the trash i was able to repack the bearings so i can move the trailer around.
Figure on a total replacement.
So it sounds like EOH, disc brakes. I have to look up the airtight hubs your talkn about.
what else....

I picked up my Sunsation this past summer and after checking a few things found that my trailer was in bad need of a refurbish. I decided to not only update a few things but also add some things from my wish list.
I am 90% done. I plan on upgrading to electric over hydraulic and to 15" wheels and tires.
Here are a few before and after pics. My buddies and I did this project over a looooooong weekend. We repainted, added a ton of LED lights and all new wiring, added a drive guard and replaced all the rotted wood with new bunks and diamond plate steps. I am very happy so far and can't wait to finish it off over the winter.
