31' Cigarette Bullet Props?
#1
31' Cigarette Bullet, stock 454/365HP Magnums and Bravo One drives. What do you think are the best props, pitch and number of blades? Looking for all around performance, best cruising speed, and easy handling around the dock.

I have a 1994 38 foot Cigarette Top Gun with 5 blade Maximus. I love the mid range cruise, 13% slip at 3200 rpm. But, hate the top end. Too much stern lift. Had them labbed and I don't like my results. I would go with 4 blades bravo 1 props. Bblades has a test program. I'm going to try 28 pitch 4 blade bravo 1s. I have 600hp each side. I'm not sure what pitch you would need.

We're running Hydromotive Q-IVs right now, with a 25 pitch. I think they are a little too much pitch, as the boat had 625s in it when the props were put on. Now its back to stock, with half that horsepower. I feel like a 22 pitch Bravo One 4-blade might be best, or a 23 pitch Mirage or Mirage Plus 3-blade.

When I bought the 1994 Top Gun, it came with Q4 26 pitch. Slipped like crazy at cruise and I could feel vibration sometimes. Nevertheless, the boat would take off like a rocket when I hammered it. I never knew what my top end was with those props. I just did not care for the Q4 on my boat. I had like 28-30 slip at 3300rpm. Your boat is not as heavy as mine, but I would not think a 3 blade would be a good all around prop for you.

I really think you could get away with 24P labbed Bravo 1 4 blade props. Bravo 1 4 blade: the boat will be better out of the hole, way better cruising speed, and decent top end numbers, compared to a 3 blade Mirage and compared to a hydro, the Bravo 1 is the better all around prop for a Bullet. Call Brett from Bblades, he will hook you up with the perfect prop for your combination, he did a bunch for me and 100% satisfaction everytime. He even has a test program, you test props and when you get the one u like, you buy!
