I have an 2005 Ford F250 Harley addition with 136,000 miles on it. Honestly I have not had a single problem with it other than I blew the turbo hose one day. But then last week happened. First I took it in to get the oil/fuel filters changed by my local diesel shop and they told me the front end was starting to look a little ragged and probably wouldnt be a bad time to do it. Since I hadn't spent much money on it I figured I would go ahead and have it done. Well I picked it up the next day after work and headed home. Next morning on the way to work I had two tires start to go flat (work around the corner from a scrap yard) doo to some nails I picked up in the side wall so I decided to go ahead and put a new set of michellins on it. Tires were getting bad but not in dire need of replacement, but still figured oh well its been a trust worthy truck and I haven't spent hardly anything on it since purchase. THE NEXT DAY I take a 30 mile trip after work to pick up my boat from being winterized and noticed it was smoking pretty good. I examined the smoke and it smelt more like oil to me than coolant. Took it in and we pulled the turbo off and it was full of oil. So now we are replacing the turbo on it. All in all its been about a $5500 week-week and a half on a truck that I daily drive with. Never seems that these things can space themselves out any everything falls at once, but hopefully I get another long stretch out of it after these investments.

bill says "Remove front tires, hubs, axles, and spindles to replace all 4 ball joints. Replace seals and tie rod ends. (3) drag link. Replace outer seals, Set toe in. 1219 worth of parts and 560 labor" So basically all steering front end components.

Next will be power steering pump or AC compressor. Since cooler weather I would say power steering pump.
Then the egr cooler will let go.
My answer to you is get out now. That money would have been a good down payment on a new Ford F250

Yeh it would cost me every bit of 600/mo to get into a new f250 and right now thats not in my budget at all. If I would have done it before I spent 6k today it might have been acheivable lol. Thats $84 a month for 72 months.

I just sold my F350 SRW Harley, it just ran out of the 5yr/100 warranty. I bought it new, and it always got compliments evern before the lift and tires. Problem was all the warranty work over the years added up to $36,000 and I was not going to take chances out of warranty.
EGR cooler twice, radiator exploded at 12k, Turbo on second EGR cooler, head gasket, then another head gasket, then head gaskets again and the found the deck of the block was not true and put a new long block in it!
Looks like you have had good luck, which is great...for me I am not sure if I would take chances again....too bad, it was a nice truck fit and finish wise

It'll cost you a helluva lot more than that. I put $2000 and my 2003 Dodge Cummins down on the 2006 Dodge Cummins at $30,000 and it cost me $700/mo for a 5 year note. How do you figure only $600/mo on a $50,000 truck?
