Default Trailer tires on Roadrunner Trailer and Baja Outlaw 29'

I have a Roadrunner triple axle trailer with my 02 Baja Outlaw 29' and looking for advice on trailer tires. I had a blowout on my way home from picking it up two hours from home....Needless to say it bent up my fender.

When I replaced the tire I noticed the trailer has 205/75R14 load range C tires....

I'm wanting to upgrade wheels and tires being I don't think they make a load range D in a 14". Should I upgrade to 15" and a 225 or 205 load range D tire?

Any help would be great. Boat and trailer weigh somewhere in the 10000-10500lb range loaded.

I had 14" on previous Trailmaster and Eagle trailers for a Baja 302 and 29 Outlaw. Had one blow out in 6+ years of towing these two boats. If you're going to do a direct replacement just make sure they're radials, obviously what the R stands for. A lot of places will try to sell you non radials. Never tried to swap for a 15" wheel, but should be a standard 5 bolt pattern. Just make sure you have the fender clearance.

I run 6 bolt, 225 75 R 15 D load range on a Heritage pulling a Baja 342.

Thanks buddy. I might just carry an extra spare. Each tire is rated for 1760lb x6=10560 which is around what my boat loaded weighs so thats why I'm concerned it would be a frequent occurance.

I just bought two of these for my trailer and carry two spares as well. These are built very well.

You can get a 10ply in a 15 inch, also the 225 will give you more load carry capacity.

I stuck with the C rating when I put new tires on my trailer but I wasn't happy about it. If I wasn't planning on selling the boat soon I would have upgraded to 15" wheels and d range tires. I only trailer once or twice a year and always carry 2 spares. Have yet to have a tire issue.
