Failing OEM 088 Exhaust Valve

I am in the process of installing Dart Pro 1 heads this winter. I was going with Manley Severe Duty intake and exhaust valves but Forum Members convinced me to go with Inconels on the exhaust. THANKS!
After I ordered the heads w/Iconels I discovered #7 exhaust on my 1300hr OEM 088s was pitted and failiing Plugs, heads, pistons, and other valves all looked normal.

What would have caused this failure on one valve? Manufacturing defect? Lean condition? Reversion?
