I had posted before that I had installed steam lines on my 88 7.4 motor with ported Edelbrock oval port heads. The original cast iron heads showed that cyl s #7 #8 & #2 looked like they were running hot the rest of the cyl s looked about even. Well I pulled the heads this weekend and all the cylindes looked even except #2 & #1 they looked either cold and/or rich. The Holly carb could be at fault a 750 total piece of crap from factory thank goodness I took it appart and inspected it before installing it. All things considerd I am very pleased with the results.

So I did a good thing when I added the steam lines to my blower intake?

Help me understand...
I have a 7.4 original set-up with a dozen changes:
New Heads - Edelbrock 6155 Alum Rec. Port
New Procharger M-1 setup (4 - 5lbs)
All roller valve train - Crane
Crane #139731 Cam 587 / 610 & 226 / 234
MSD Ignition
Imco Powerflow thru transom exhaust
I added a crossover last year and was concerned about the
heat in the rear of the engine because I took out the stock
recirulating pump. This year I have to eliminate the thermostat
because of clearance issues from the Procharger.
What should I do with steam vents??? What do them really do???
I have the ports already avaliable in the #7 & #8 manifold ports
or two more drilled between the 6th & 8th and the 5th & 7th
head ports.
Should I add them????
