What carbs to buy

i have stock blue 500 hp carbs drilled out and are about 920cfm, and need rebuilt my motors are appx 600hp i spin them 5600 with 741 crane cam was thinking of going with dominators what do you all think. looking fo a good idle and more power.

Tough call. However, I think you should send yours out to pro systems, nickerson, or chuck nuytten, and get them redone if they are beyond a renew kit. Your carbs should be enough to support what you have i.m.o.

I have heard that the 500 came with 800cfm carbs. However, it has a 1-11/16th butterfly base plate. That tells me it is has a 750 CFM. All the 800's that ive worked with had a 1-3/4" butterfly. Now another factor is the venturii diameter and horn angle. All of which plays into the cfm rating.
How did you go from stock to 920 cfm?
