Anyone have any pointers on installing 1/2" hallow stainless steel rub rail? Any tools out there for bending it around corners in the back and the bow? I do have access to a brake at work but, that is far from the shop I am working on it at.. How do the pros do it?
Thanks,

J-B,
Not sure it will help you but check the website for Jamestown Distributors, they have a video on installing rub rail. Twice I have replaced the alum. rub rail with rubber insert on my boat and you just bend it around the bow and stern by hand. Lot easier than you think!

I very carefully bend it around corners with a rubber mallet. Just give it a few hits with the mallet and it bends pretty easily. If it is concave shaped, the top and bottom are going to flatten out some, but there is no way to stop it. It bends surprisingly easy.

X2 plus you can fill it with sand or a light blast media and it will help keep it from crushing or flatting when your forming it. Take a little more time (and the mess) but works pretty good if careful. Pete
