I've got the engines out of my Fountain and want to freshen up the bilge floor. Anyone used Bilgekote? Goods or bads? Are there any alternatives I should consider? Anything I should know before using?

I repainted the bilge in my cruiser this spring with it after glassing in the new transom. I put down several coats to get a good cover over the old paint and the fresh unpainted FG. Have to scuff up between coats for adhesion and wipe down with the cleaner each time. (I forget the name). Sounds like a lot of work between coats, but it's really just a few minutes to go over with the pads and wipe down, then lay on a coat of paint. After the 1st 2 coats, seemed like I was just sanding the fresh paint off of the high spots, so I switched to scotch brite pads and it worked great. I think we put on 4 coats. Maybe a little overkill, but I had a gallon to use up. Got a very nice durable shine and it seems tough so far. It's slick as he** though. Oil spills clean up great with no staining. I'm happy with it. 1 word of caution, when painting it on and working in corners, don't let it pool up. It won't dry if thicker than the brushed on thickness. It'll stay a soft rubbery goo, even after a few days. Do the recommended prep and procedure and it will turn out great.

Follow the directions and it works good. I really liked it.

I tried rustoleum. It provides a nice looking finish but it didn't seem to hold up to spills as well.

After yanking out the old nasty oil soaked carpet out of mine I took a grinder and wire wheel to get all the old glue and crap off then wiped it down real good with thinner and wiped my hand across to make sure no residue was left and I used a 2 part epoxy from Rustoleum. Between a brush and roller it layed down real nice and easy, looks like a new bilge area compared to what was there.
