I have mine mounted under the dash. I used two long coated deck screws into the forward bulkhead to form a shelf then wedged it from the top with double stick. It should work out fine although I have not tried it yet.
Here is a idea for your recall switch.http://offshoreonly.com/forum/showth...threadid=24301

Hope this helps Scott

you need to mount the mouse in view of the sky.do not mount under anything this will obstruct the satallite signal

Just mounted mine in my Donzi. I live a couple miles from Livorsi Marine so I went and talked with Mike Livorsi first. He suggested to mount it where it will have a 180 degree view of the satellites for best reception. Conversely, he said that when testing it he had an antenna under the seat of his truck to test reception - it worked great around the Chicago area, but lousy in Missouri area. Executive summary - place in the open if you want 100 percent reliability or place under dash out of sight and hope for the best.
Mike's recall switch, if it doesn't match what you have, can be replaced by a two way switch like you have to raise and lower engine hatch. I purchased a switch from Livorsi that would match my existing switches to use for the recall.
Questions call Livorsi at 847-548-5900. Great folks that will help and stand behind their product. (I am not being compensated for this statement - I just like working with people that treat customers with respect).

Unless you like the style of the antenna I would at least first try it under the dash. Surrounding the mouse with a piece of plastic (fiberglass) is a lot different than having it under a car seat (chain link fence) and a metal roof. The mount it out in the open statements come from Garmin. They are making sure that there product has no chance of failure and I have to agree with there logic I would not wan't a returned item because the user blamed the product for the wrong apllication.
I have had great service from Lavorsi there customer service and product knowledge is fantastic.

One problem with the 35 cig. The dash is about a foot thick. I talked to Nordskog about mine and they did not recommend putting it under the dash of my Cafe Racer because of that reason. Too thick of material used in the dash.

I've seen them mounted on a VHF antenna mount.
