Default Flywheel for SBC and Mercruiser Alpha One Gen 2

Is there anything special about the flywheel to a SBC hooked up to a newer Alpha? While searching here I came across threads talking about having to do some machining on them to make them marine.

Summit Racing has a Hays Marine flywheel 20-999 but it is $490. They have another Hayes 10-130 for $249. Anyone know the difference?

I know I have to get the correct outside diameter (number of teeth), correct balance, and probably have to make sure the holes are in the right spot for the triangle coupler.

Thanks
Eric

Eric,
You also need to know which version 350 you have. The later model small blocks, with the one piece rear main seal crankshaft, use a different flywheel than the early small blocks. Do you know which one you have ?

To be honest with you, unless the engine is modified quite a bit, a stock flywheel should be just fine. Pioneer has them for around $120.

Right, I know I have to get the correct one piece v. two piece seal. I don't have the engine yet. It will be a new GM crate engine.

if you're buying a new crate engine it will probably be a one piece

If it's a late model 1 Peice Rear Main Seal ,
We have NEW GM Pulloffs for 75.00. They have never been ran, just pulled off of new mercs.
