Default New Whip Upgrades for 700's-Who is using them

Looking for anyone who is running any of the Whipple upgrades on the 700's. What kinda performance you looking at and most important - reliability? How long have you been running them? Thanks,

I think a OSO'er on the forum from Washington state has a lot of Whipple upgrades on his Nordic with 600sci that has Whippled up to over 700HP and he has visited and dyno'd at Whipple several times and seems to know all the particulars
His name here on OSO is CB-LR I believe.

Best Regards,

Here is a 38 Fountain running one. Roger on the OSO board. You could PM him about reliability. Ran some poker runs with him. We have a 38/700 Fountain, was thinking about the upgrade also, so I am interested too. Bullhead is also a OSO member with a 42 Fountain 700 package thats suspsiously fast. I am sure he will chime in.

If I'm correct, he has done every Whipple upgrade possible and pushed his engine to over 1000hp...

Got a buddy that picked up a 2011 44SL and it has 700's with Whipple kits from day one. He's got 25 hours on the motors now. No issues on the turned up motors and he had stock 700's in a Baja before this one and put about 150 hours on those.

The upgrades seem to have the same manners as the stock motors.

More acceleration; quicker throttle response; more boost; more RPM's. There are multiple stages of upgrades; all depends on how long you want the motors to last. I only did the stage one and the change was well worth it.

You are correct. Chris' engine is now over 1000hp. It went to Whipple as a brand new 600 sci in the crate. It is now a 555 or 565 I believe. The heads have been CNC'd and it has a 4L supercharger. It also has larger injectors with a Mefi 4b ecm.

Whipple's upgrades are able to take the 700 sci to about 820 hp with a ecm program, pulley change and re-routing the water to the intercooler. It will be money very well spent. Let me know if I can help you get it done if you choose to do the upgrades.

I have heard that the NXT transmission is the weak link in the 700 package. This is why Mercury has a torque management system built into the ecu's. Has anyone done the upgrade and broke the NXT transmission?
Have heard about several transmissions braking but was under the impression that they were on stock motors.
