My 1996 Powerquest Vyper should be sold by next Monday. Since we have 3 month old baby girl, I was considering changing speeds/type of boat.
Not a true Cruiser, but the Formula 37' Super Sport with 496 MAG HO engines. Speed should range anywhere from 55 - 60mph. Boat has all the options we want (except for loud exhaust) plus the 5 year warranty.
I want to spend a lot of time out on the water (both day and night) so I want more room for weekends and long trips. I have a line on a 38 PQ with 496 HO's with AC, TV/VCR, Shower, Head etc. But again, not a lot of room once you get some place. Also, 38 PQ has lots of purple which the wife says is a must have.
Cost difference is about $65,000 between the 2001 Formula and 2001 PQ.
Am I being a P**SSY by going to a sport cruiser??? We are only 31, so we have plenty of time to go back to a speed boat when she gets older.
Note: We don't live on the water. If we did, I wouldn't even consider a sport cruiser. Our drive is about 45 minutes to the marina.

Magic (Robert) I've seen your boat for sale, what type of price are looking at? The 37ss we are looking at is a 2001 left over...dealer wants to move as soon as possible. Would love the 500 EFI's, buy don't think I could get the payments within our budget.
eeyzlee - thought about a black thunder, love the cabin and head room, buy there is not much cockpit space. My buddy has a Formula 40 SS who wants to get the new 46 Black Thunder. I would buy his boat, but the interest rate would be too high. I keep asking if he wants to lease to me, but I never get a firm response!

Congrats on selling the PQ, I know you've had it for sale for a while now.
