Does anyone know if Eagle Trailers are still being made. Web site doesn;t seem to indicate so. What I am looking into is getting a quote for the pre-carpeted bunk sections for my trailer. I heard they do that at a fairly competitive rate per foot. Thanks for any help. Steve

I've replace bunks on two different trailers, its an easy DIY project. You can buy the carpet at West Marine and the 2X8's at Lowes or Home Depot. I would imagine its alot cheaper than having Eagle make them up and shipped to you.

I bought the treated 2 x 6's at a local lumber yard and then had Heritage Trailers send me the carpet cut to length. Cheap and easy.

My last 3 trailers I have gone back to them for replacement bunks.,,,,, and bought carpet for another and got the bunks myself locally.

Can do it cheaper yourself,,,,,

I got mine from them a couple years ago when they were still in Michigan. I thought they moved somewhere else tho.

It was just easier getting the pre-carpeted bunks at the length I needed then trying to find straight 16 foot boards are the local lumber yard.

why not use treated wood?

I put new bunks on my trailer a few years ago. The manufacturer told me they use treated wood and hot dipped galvanized lag screws and stainless steel staples. The chemicals in the treated wood will destroy regular hardware. I also used waterproof carpet adhesive, worked great. Use the heavy grade marine carpet. My wife and I did the whole trailer in 2 days...easy job

They are still in business, purchased by Yacht Club and moved to iowa. You can find info on my website at http://piratemarine.net. I don't know of many companies that use treated wood as we know it.
