tramps formula? He was a good guy and used it on the chain in chicago. always took good care of it and put some good motors in it like 10 years ago or so before he passed away. Worked for the water dept. and loved his boat.

resided in the chain o lakes in Illinois,was used on occasion in lake Michigan but as tommy got older it stayed at the chain..he use to keep it at the mutiny pub and marina off of grass lake and Kenny the owner use to do some of the maintenance on it..
The boat originally had 420's in it with the trs set up,Power Source in fox lake did the engines, they were the stock engines with eagle 4.25 stroked crank,eagle rods and j&e pistons.cams are hyd roller by cam motion with morel lifters,single plane plenums intakes with Holley's,lightening headers..
their about 600hp each.
from what have told he had everything rebuilt,transmidssions and the drives were gone through..
the boat according to tommy ran 82 mph..

Wow thats more info than when i got it. From what i gathered Power Sourse did freshen up both motors 4 yrs ago and Ryans race motors built them for tom 10 yrs ago. When i got the boat it had 75hrs on the fresh motors. the bout ran to the vdo on the speedo seems about 80 but i was told it could only do 72 with the props on it 25s cant really tell it seems to be a rocket. Needless to say that only lasted 2 days after i got it port engine failed

I would love to see the specs on those motors when they were pushing that 311 to 82. That is my top end goal when it comes time for rebuilding my 420's. Currently topped out at 70 gps with stock 420's and 25 p mirage non plusses.

motors were done by ryan.redone by powersource.468 about 500hp. blew a drive almost al the time when on lake michigan so stopped going there.boat runs around 70-72
