Default Painting transom questions about quote

I removed the old outboard bracket and swim platforms from my boat and sealed all the holes with west system and 404. I asked for a quote to get it sprayed and was quoted at around 1000.00.

All the fiberglass is done. all that need to be done is sand and fare it smooth (2 hours tops), then spray it white. from the rub rail down. 8' wide hull. No cutting or taping other than covering the sides and rub rail up.

That seems outrageous! I will roll and tip it myself if that is the case.

Seems reasonable to me. If he shoots it with gelcoat they will have to follow up with sanding, wetsand, and wax. If it was easy, everybody would do it.
