Default Rebuild on 850's

How many hours before you have to rebuild 850's? Anyone on the board with these engines? How much difference between 700's and 850's and is it worth the cost? I am looking at a used boat, so I'm not buying new.

I hope you are looking at the 39 w 850s at PBB.
I checked it out the other day. VERY Sweet.
Did not see what kind of hours on it tho.

40hrs, and I just don't know anything about those motors. Do they need rebuilds as often as the 1075's? Sweet boat though, I don't know why it hasn't sold but I'm thinking because of the 850's.

Also, on the same lines, what is the approximate cost on the rebuilds?

I was also told once that the 850s could easily be upgraded when they are rebuilt. is that also true?

I know nothing about the motors either.
I was not to fond of the Blue in the pics till I saw it in person. The pics do NOT do it justice.

I know the boat. It was sold new by Ocean Performance and serviced there as well. The owner traded it into Hideaway for a new Outerlimits back in 2007 I believe. The only problem is that the 850 boats arnt really that much faster than the 700 boats at all. They ran a best of like 112. Ocean sold two of them. I would much rather run a juiced up 700 boat. The 850's are a nice motor but are on a slightly longer rebuild schedule as the 1075's and as any Mercury motor can be juiced up. I did see a set in a 42 Outerlimits go 200+ hours on a set before a re-fresh but they were babied.
