post the vin. i will let you know what i think buddy. i am a ford master tech been working on the 6.0 for 6 years now. sometimes bad techs get ahold of them and there are many repeat repairs and related damages like improperly routed wires and hacked stuff.

I've been told by several Ford dealers to only buy 06-07 6.0's. They have enough problems no matter what year but the 03-05 were very problematic.

Depending on what comes up on the report from Fixxer, as long its clear, I would have no problem at all. 05's were typically just fine, 03's -September built 04's were more the issue, according to my Ford Diesel guy. I just did the same with an '05 Excursion 6.0 with 79k on it. I love the truck. I sold my 2000 7.3 Excursion and just love this one. More torque, power, and LOVE the 5 speed trans much better!

A friend of mine bought an 05 6.0 F-250 new. He had a new trans and injectors in it before 40K miles. He drives an 07 Duramax now.. Jeff Wurl

They seem to be ok if left stock. I have a 120hp tune in mine and stretched the head bolts with about 50k on it. It was still under warranty, so I bought ARP Head studs and Ford put them in, no more problems. This is about a 3k job without a warranty. I love everything about the truck though. Makes great power gets decent fuel economy and tows great. I feel that the Ford is the best compromise in a truck as the Dodge is a overall crappy truck with a Great engine, the chevy has an independent front suspension and major engine components that are made in Japan as well as several people I know with them have injector and trans issues.
