Default 1989 powerplay 18.5

I has the 350 260 hp. Not the mag engine. What is the difference anyway? Wanna do cam, heads, thru hull silent choice exhaust, intake and carb this winter. Any body know of any good strong and reliable combos. Looking for 400+. Let me know! Thanks

to get over 400hp you're going to need more then a cam and heads my 383s that I just built are 420hp and I can still run pump gas and the cam is mild enough for the restricive manifolds that boats have, you really need to think how much money you want to spend on it. Just look up older posts on 383 on here to get some ideas there are alot of people that have gone this route but I know fom experience it's not cheap

Default gotcha!

K.thanks for the info on the engine...ok 400 horsepower next winter...350 this winter...I'm gonna do a decent cam...do a set of decent heads...put a edelbrock intake on it with a 750 double pumper holly.....and run it...hope it works..I got a stang with a 393 stroked windsor...it was cheap to build and runs like a raped ape....i t will be fun to build a 383 one day!
