Default Power Engine Hatch

I recently purchased a 1987 30' Panther and have a stupid question. What if for some reason there is a power failer or the engine hatch motor burned up, how would I get the hatch open ???? Is there a secret that I do not know about?

Under the swim pad on my Panther there is a 6" hole next to the hatch mount that has a plastic cover. Remove the cover, pull the pin and open hatch manually. I also have extra wire leads off the hatch motor ran under my back seat. This is if my batteries die, I can just jump them there.

For power failure, you can always jump it under the dash at the switch leads also. Do the older scarabs not have the pipe sleeve on the rams that allow the hatch to be manually lifted, if need be?
