i am looking at an 04 spectre with 300x outboards. The boat and motors have 160 hours.

Are these motors good on the 30 foot spectre? Does anyone know what they get for gas mileage?

and this might not be the right forum for this question, but at what point do these motors need to be rebuilt?

Looks nice!...300X motors these days worth around 20K pair....60K for hull and trailer seems steep IMHO...300X is a really great motor! I had over 300 hours on mine and only had to do an alernator and belt in 5 seasons!!! They will be great for that setup...Max RPM is 6200 to 6800 RPMs...I have heard 400 hundred hours for rebuild, but I bought mine used and it had over 500 hours when I sold it on it and it ran great...Many people go 600 hours or more!...If you run a larger pitch prop and keep the RPMs down a bit they hold together better... The Sportmasters are the weak link pushing a larger boat...Plan on having a spare for when ya' need it...Change gearcase oil frequently...Good Luck!! Al
