Its a product called Chromveil, pretty cool stuff and it comes in a bunch of different patterns. Its best used in the mold process but can be wet layed up. Its very difficult to repair sections of it but it is possible. I have a gentleman that does artistic woodgraining for me on vintage automotive restoration projects and its the only way i think it could be done. Most of the wood looking trim in cars from the late 20's is painted on. Its a cool process and just about any type of wood can be duplicated and you would swear its real. I will see if i can dig out some pics.
