I bought two take off 525 EFI Intakes they came with harnesses. I was just wondering they have the 10 pin Mercury plugs. I thought the 525efi's were set up with the newer 14 pin connector? Did they make these for 10 pins? They don't look messed with.

Early HP525efi engines (2001 approx. thru 2004) were equipped with 10 pin wire harnesses and a crank sensor external on the front balancer versus inside the timing cover.

Is the harness otherwise the same? If I had to replace the harness should I go to the newer one and swap the cps? Or is the tooth count different and need to flash the sensor. Motors are all apart so now is the time for any changes
