Congratulations on your new boat....I had previously owned a 29 Fountain with twin 350 Mags and it would run in the neighborhood of 70-72. I'm not sure you'll be able to see 85 but if might be possible with a light fuel load. I would say your looking at between 78-80 being realistic. While the 502's have more HP they are quite a bit heavier than small blocks... Either way you'll enjoy your Fountain, I was sorry to see mine leave my dock when I sold it. It was a great boat and built to last... Good Luck and Happy Boating... Jim

Anyway,, if i go near 80,, its perfect for me because i change my old sweet wellcraft nova 27 for this boat,, the nova with one 502 go max 57 on gps and i want more,, my little suprise when i buy this fountain its the room in,, its smaller than my nova,, i supposed the ride make me more happy against the smaller room !! if yes,, in other time,, i buy cruiser for vacation and keep my fountain fastest ride also,,lol

I have a 96 29 fever with twin mpi 502s. Stock exhaust and running 28 pitch props. Engines turn at 5000 rpm max with the props and I can usually figure 75 to 78 mph depending on conditions , fuel etc. This year id like to put an exhaust system on and see what kind of improvement I get.

Nice,, you have the same setting of mine,, little difference is the exaust,, i keep you username to give you this summer what i found about my speed and prop,, because if i believe the last owners,, with my 4 blades 25 pitch,, he running 80-85 mph ? and i know if you upgrade the pitch, i supposed you have more top end,, its big difference of your 28 pitch,, i dont understand that??

2. That boat with stock power will NEVER run 90 or even 85. A 32 with that power is around 72-74 stock. In other words. BS!
3. Even with a 1.36 ratio and the engines spinning @ 5100 with a 25, slip would have to be 4%, no way. With a 27" @ 5000-5100 and 10-12% slip, that could run 85, IF the drive ratio is 1.36. If the drive ratio is 1.5, you would need a 30".
The 28" props and 75-78 tbrown stated, sounds bang on.

hydromotive 4 blade labbed props like i said everything else on motors are stock. I would think you should beable to run a 28 pitch prop with no problem. I always hear the hydromotive prop is the way to go on fountains but honestly have never tried any other prop. A little slow out of the hole but once up and running lots of throttle response.

Yep. My '99 will touch 76-77 if the stars are aligned right, but a 74 ride ever day. Larger step though. Gain??????
Those prop, rpms and mph numbers didn't add up. But if that's what the seller said, then......
I'd guess a speedo reading
