Default Swap Cabbage Festival Run Feb 26th

So there are a couple of us outboard powered boats heading up the caloosahatchee river this weekend to labelle for the swamp cabbage festival http://swampcabbagefestival.org/
I dont think there are any docks up there but you can pull up on the grassy shore.

There is also another group of boats heading from Roland Martin's in Clewiston and heading towards Labelle.

We are leaving the Cape Coral Yacht Club around 10am. We have to go thru a few speed zones and 1 lock but it is a nice run up river. This will show you where it is located http://www.jacksmarine.net/caloosaha...river-info.pdf

Most of the river before the lock has the 25 MPH speed zones so this will be a much slower run than we are use to but it is a nice change of pace. If anyone wants to join us let me know.

Don,

How far from CCYC (by boat) to swamp cabbage festival?

Are there speed zones after the first lock?

How many locks to go through to get to swamp cabbage festival?

Hi Frank-

I think it is around 35 miles one way. No speeds zones after the lock except for around a few of the bridges that get kind of narrow. Just 1 lock. The franklin lock in Alva. Big lock that could hold 10 to 20 boats depending on the size of the boats.

Here is a chart that shows the slow zones:

Hi Don

Sounds like a great time. I am installing the cradle on my lift Saturday morning. Keri and I are then running the boat to her parents that live in Alva. If the lift is done by 10:00 we will meet you on the water.

Thanks

Eric
